Teen Volunteering Opportunities

Apply to volunteer at the library. You will be contacted in early/mid October about training sessions.
Below are the descriptions of volunteer opportunities at Bernards Township Library.
Children’s Library: Students in grades 7-12. Volunteers will assist with tasks in the Children's Library. Volunteering tasks will include helping prepare for programs and crafts, emptying the book drop, and other related tasks, depending on need. Must be available Mondays-Thurdays 5:30-6:30pm. Other programs will be posted on an as needed basis.
General Library Helpers: Students in grades 7-12. Must be available Tuesdays-Thursdays from 3:00-5:00 or 4:00-6:00pm. Library Helper volunteers will help out with different tasks in the Teen and Adult Libraries, the individual tasks will vary depending on need. There are also additional opportunities to help volunteer with Teen Programs as needed. Timing for teen programs will change depending on the program.
Tech Teens: Students must be in grades 9-12. Volunteers will help patrons as well as library staff with tech related issues, such as downloading apps and helping patrons print, as well as help with tech related programs on an as needed basis. Must be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm, and/or Saturdays from 12:00-2:00.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB): Students in grades 7-12. Teen Advisory Board is a group of teens who participate in and influence the functioning of the Library, especially for teen programming and Library materials. TAB is a forum to have your opinions and suggestions heard. It is also an opportunity for additional volunteer hours. TAB Meetings are held the second Wednesdayof the month from 7:00 - 8:00pm.
