Applications are required for all volunteer opportunities including virtual opportunities.
Applications will be accepted until July 15 for Summer Volunteering 2022, or until volunteer opportunities are full.  
All volunteers must volunteer in person. 


If you are a Ridge High School sophomore looking for alternative volunteering opportunities to complete your required volunteer service, please click here for organizations that Ridge High School has already approved. 

Below are the descriptions of volunteer opportunities at Bernards Township Library. 

Children’s Library: Students in grades 7-12. Volunteers will assist with tasks in the Children's Library. Volunteering tasks will include helping prepare for programs and crafts, emptying the book drop, and other related tasks, depending on need. Must be available Mondays-Thurdays 5:30-6:30pm, Saturdays 9:30-10:30am. Other programs will be posted on an as needed basis.

Adult/Teen Library Helpers: Students in grades 7-12. Must be available Mondays-Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm. Library Helper volunteers will help out with different tasks in the Teen and Adult Libraries, the individual tasks will vary depending on need. There are also additional opportunities to help volunteer with Teen Programs as needed. Timing for teen programs will change depending on the program.

Tech Teens: Please review the Tech Teen requirements before applying. Tech Teens must be in grades 9-12. Must be available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Thursdays from 3:00-5:00pm, and/or Saturdays from 12:00-2:00 or 2:00-4:00pm.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB): Students in grades 7-12. Teen Advisory Board is a group of teens who participate in and influence the functioning of the Library, especially for teen programming and Library materials. TAB is a forum to have your opinions and suggestions heard. It is also an opportunity for additional volunteer hours.  TAB Meetings are held the second Wednesday, and fourth Thursday of the month from 7:00 - 8:00pm.; April through July. Starting in August, TAB meetings will be held the second Wednesday of the month. 

Virtual Volunteer Opportunities: Students in grades 7-12. You can find all of the guidelines for virtual volunteering here. All volunteers who volunteer virtually will have to volunteer in person or attend Teen Advisory Board meetings.
