- When will the Library be open?
The Library will be open by appointment only, Monday – Thursday from 11am to 7pm, Friday from 11am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 2pm. We will be closed on Sundays. Schedule your visit.
- Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks must be worn at all times by both staff and patrons, including children over the age of two. Masks must fully cover your nose and mouth.
- Will Curbside Pickup continue?
Yes! We strongly encourage you to use this service.
- Can I come in and browse?
Yes you may, however, please make an appointment first or by calling 908-204-3031 ext. 126
- Can I use a computer?
A limited number of computers will be available in the Reference Area and by appointment only. Our WiFi is accessible from the courtyards and parking lot.
- Can I print, make copies or scan to email?
You may print or copy if you have a library card. The charge will be added to your library account for payment in the future. Directions for self-service scanning will be available.
- Can I eat in the library?
No, please do not bring food or drinks into the building.
Can children come to the library?
Yes! However, children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
Can I visit the Teen Space?
The Teen Space is closed to the public until further notice. Please contact the Teen Librarian to assist you at 908-204-3031 ext. 127 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
- How many people are allowed in the building?
Per the Executive Order #157 from Governor Murphy, the library may reopen the building at 25% capacity. This means that only 30 people are allowed in the building.
How do I enter and exit the building?
Both the upstairs and downstairs entrances will be open for entering and exiting. You must make an appointment to come in, in order to help us serve as many patrons as safely as possible.
Where can I pick up my holds?
Holds can be picked up in the downstairs lobby area. Please ask a staff member for assistance.
Is there a Summer Reading Program?
Summer Reading is virtual this year! Register for this year’s program.

- Can I book a meeting room?
No, meeting and program rooms are not available at this time.
Can I sit and read?
We are not able to provide a space to sit and read inside the building. If the weather permits, you may sit at one of the outside benches or at the table at the back of the library.
What is the Library doing to keep staff and patrons safe and healthy?
Everyone is required to wear face masks inside the building to help minimize the spread of the virus. Plexiglass has been installed at all of the service desk areas. Staff will follow social distancing guidelines when serving the public. There will be frequent cleanings of high touch areas in the building and service points thoughout the day. Computers will be cleaned after each use. Restrooms will be thoroughly cleaned at the end of the day. All materials are being quarantined for 72 hours. We are following the guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control, as well as by the advisement of the Bernards Township Health Department.
- Will things look different in the Library?
Yes, our Library’s spaces have changed, as we have added protections and guides to help with social distancing. While the building looks different, our commitment to serving the residents of Bernards Township remains the same. We can’t wait to see you again!
